Guest Teacher Guidelines:

Thank you so much for teaching our students! We truly appreciate your time and are excited for our students to learn from working with you.

To help lessons run smoothly while our studio teacher is away, we ask all guest teachers to follow the guidelines below. You’re not just “filling in” — you’re creating a new and meaningful experience for our students. Working with a new teacher is a special opportunity, and we encourage both students and guest teachers to treat each lesson as such.

1. Prepare in advance
The studio teacher will email or leave notes for each student. Please take time to review these notes before lessons so you can come prepared and make the most of your time together. This helps our studio maintain a professional and thoughtful experience rather than figuring things out on the fly. Books are usually left out, but please let me know if you need anything additional.

2. Greet students with enthusiasm
Having a different teacher can feel nerve-wracking for some students. A warm, welcoming, and encouraging presence makes a big difference! You may need to step into the hallway at the start of the lesson and ask, “Are you ___?” to find your student 😊

3. Make the lesson memorable and engaging
We’d love for each student to leave their lesson feeling excited and inspired. Please aim for a balance of continuing what the studio teacher has been working on while also adding your own creative touch. This could include a new exercise, duet, game, or fresh approach that makes the lesson feel special and educational.

4. Leave notes for the studio teacher
If possible, please leave brief notes on what you worked on with each student so the studio teacher knows how to continue the following week.

Extra note: If you need anything at all, please text Sarah at 330-671-4522.

You will be treated as a 1099 independent contractor. Please keep this in mind for taxes.

Thank you again for being a guest teacher at our studio — we’re grateful to have you!
